Tom and Maria Cesta, with the assistance of other members of the Cosmopolitan Club, have arranged for various opportunities to learn “Social Ballroom Dancing.”
During the fall and spring months, starting in September they will utilize the facilities of the Clayton Opera House to offer an evening of social ballroom dance.
The evening begins at 7 PM with a one hour of instruction (dance style typically determined by participants requests) followed by open dancing from 8 to 10PM. These are low key, fun events for all levels of dancing ability. The fee is $10 per person. Light snacks, water and soda are available. Light casual clothing is recommended for all classes.
For more information please call either 315-783-8041 or 315-783-7777.
In addition, Tom and Maria teach Social Ballroom Dancing at Jefferson Community College as part of the Continuing Education Program. There are a total of four, six week sessions with two six week sessions in the fall and two in the spring (each six week session is a separate class).
The first six week class for each semester is for beginners, which typically encompasses three dance styles (2 weeks per style – foxtrot, swing, rumba typically in the fall semester and waltz, cha cha cha and mambo typically in the spring semester). These classes begin in September and February respectively. The second six week period in both the fall and the spring semesters focuses on one specific dance and begins after completion of the beginner class.
